Ella RobinsonInspired by the mood of the British coast, Ella reinvents found objects by combining them with purchased media, creating brightly coloured and unique interior artworks. Through the process of beachcombing she carefully selects and gathers driftwood, beach plastics, ceramics, sea glass, beach corks and lighters (amongst other materials).
Two distinct areas exist within Ella's practice; Decorative Objects and Collections. Decorative Objects are individual pieces of driftwood that she drills and then either wraps or stitches with embroidery thread or plastic tubing/ lacing. Collections are box framed, ordered compositions made from the materials and fragments that Ella collects from the coast and the city.
