Eleanor Patton - &Gallery Showcase
1st July - 31st August

The &Gallery in Edinburgh will be hosting a 2 month showcase of Eleanor's work. Her jewellery will be available from the opening opening night of their Gillian McFarland exhibition of ceramics.

Inspired by the Japanese technique of Kintsugi, using gold to repair broken pottery, and the association gold has historically had with healing, Eleanor breaks and then repairs mirrors applying different amounts of gold to the cracks to represent the stages of healing from mental illness. Eleanor makes each piece by hand, creating a setting out of ethically sourced silver for every broken mirror, connecting these to create a story.

Her work is designed to help people talk about mental illness and remove the taboos surrounding the subject.
