Ruth Lyne Contemporary Glass
Ruth Lyne Contemporary GlassRuth Lyne has always been intrigued by the natural colours and textures of the sea shore, by the movement of the waves and the ripples left in the sand and by the wide horizons and the surface of the cliffs. Glass allows her to use layers of colour and texture to create an abstract image inspired by these memories.
Ruth is very interested in the visual language used in abstract painting and places vertical and horizontal elements to try to instil a sense of calm and balance in the image. She originally used a simple palette of aqua, silver, black and white, but has recently added a new range of vibrant reds and oranges to explore how they change the work.
Ruth doesn't try to recreate the natural world, but aims to create images that evoke a range of feelings and memories both in the viewer and in herself.
