LOUISE EVANS
Louise Frances Evans
Louise Frances Evans makes jewellery and textiles pieces, frequently involving found objects and vintage clothing. She uses photographic images and scraps of documents to convey a social story.Influenced by the theory of family photography, narratives of identity, plus women's work and domesticity, her pieces voice the expectations surrounding women, to be a 'good girl', to be 'beautiful' or a 'loving mother'. She is interested in the material line and in skills such as sewing and objects such as jewellery, which women pass onto women.
Louise undertakes residencies and commissions, creating new work for exhibition installations and one-off pieces for individuals.
