As part of the popular design graduate exhibition New Designers, The Design Trust have organised a full and varied business development day, with:

• Former Dragon's Den, Doug Richard of School for Creative Startups will kick start the day
• Business support and funding panel with Ideas Tap, Bishopsland Educational Trust, Yorkshire Art Space, Capital Enterprise and Cultural Enterprise Office
• Short talks by author and startup consultant Alison Branagan, jeweller Angie Boothroyd and creative finance specialist Sarah Thelwall
• Short intro's on intellectual property by Own-it, ACID and Creative Barcode
• Marketing & showcasing panel incl. Designers Makers, Design Factory, Design Event and Craft Scotland
• Finally the One Year On business clinic

The Design Trust will also be launching its Business Club membership at New Designers, as well as launching its first e-book The Design Trust Guide to Start & Run a Successful Craft Business.

New Designers showcases graduate design talent, presenting the work of the next generation of professional designers as they emerge from the UK’s design courses to make their impression on the creative sector.

Part 2 - Wednesday 4th - Saturday 7th July
Product Design, Furniture Design, Visual Communications (incl. Graphic Design and Illustration), Spatial Design, One Year On

Design Factory members Bekx Stephens, Deborah Forrest and Gillian Tidgwell are taking part in 'One Year On,' a satellite event within New Designers Part One. One Year On showcases a specially selected group of some small companies and individual designer/makers whose work has matured and progressed in the first year in business.
