Associate member Jenny Creasey graduated in 2009 with a degree in Design Crafts from De Montfort University, Leicester.
Immediately after graduating Jenny set up her own business and to help her make that move, she joined Design Factory as an associate member. After two months in business, we caught up with Jenny to see how it’s all going and how Design Factory has helped her to make the big move ...
“I was very keen to establish a reputation and raise awareness of my work through exhibitions and craft show," said Jenny. "Joining Design Factory has been hugely beneficial to me as it has enabled me to exhibit in three exhibitions to date, with a further five shows lined up between now and December.
www.designfactory.org.uk has also proved very successful for me. With over 7,000 people worldwide signed up to the e-newsletter, it’s a powerful promotional tool and very simple to be part of. I simply send in my news and Design Factory uploads it. To generate a dedicated mailing list is a big task and for young businesses it can take months and years - I've found the website and e-newsletter to be an extremely successful way of promoting myself to a wide audience.
Design Factory is a well respected agency in the region and I find that people take my work seriously now that I am a member. The help and support I have received from the team and network has been invaluable. As a novice, it really does help to have someone to talk to that understands!"
