Workshops with Design Factory Flow member Helen Hallows
‘Paper Plains’ - collaged landscapes
Much of Helen's work is inspired by the landscape and the seasons. This one-day workshop will introduce you to the media used in her work; ink, collage and stitch. You’ll be able to experiment creating different marks on papers, root around in my paper stash, and have a go at machine embroidery. During the day Helen will talk about the symbols in nature that inspire me; trees, sun and moon, isolated houses. You will then create a picture with symbols that are meaningful to you.
The day is suitable for those with some experience of painting and drawing. It will be an informal, playful day to try mixed-media work. Please take along images or sketches of a landscape that inspires you.
Course dates:
Saturday May 26th - Long Eaton Art Room, Long Eaton, Nottingham, 10-4, £40 including tea and cake + £3 materials
