Ceramic Brooch Making Workshop with Katie Almond
Fee: £20
Saturday 7th April, 11 - 1pm
Be inspired by talented ceramist Katie Almond's design secrets & create your own stunning trio of porcelain brooches. Your brooches are fired and returned to the shop ready for you to collect just 2 weeks later.

Ceramic Plate Making Workshop with Katie Almond
Fee: £30
Saturday 7th April, 2 - 5pm
A welcome addition to The Design Room workshops. Join Leicestershire designer maker Katie Almond for the afternoon and learn how to create your own decorative plate, your plate is return the shop 2 weeks later after firing for you to collect.

Bracelet Making Workshop with Alys Power
Fee: £25
Saturday 26th May, 11-1pm
Design Factory Flair member Alys Power will share her metal working techniques and lovely nostalgic materials and inspire you to create a unique and personal bracelet to be cherished.

Combining metal stamping and riveting you will make a simple but striking layered brass and aluminium design. You will then mount your stamped metal plate onto a vintage expandable watch strap to create your very own piece of handmade jewellery.For your workshop think about words and phrases you might want to use and you are welcome to bring along any beads, buttons or trinkets to embellish your bracelet but all materials are provided for this workshop.

Stamped Pendant Workshop with Alys Power

Saturday 26th May, 2 - 5pm
Alys Power will share her metal working techniques and lovely nostalgic materials and inspire you to create a unique and personal necklace to be cherished. You will learn techniques including metal stamping and finishing, wire work and beading as well as how to transform your junk into jewels and go home with a wonderful and wearable work of art. All materials are provided but please bring along your own personal trinkets and treasures to make your creation uniquely yours - coins, keys, buttons and beads and all those forgotten items from the bottom of your jewellery box will be given a new lease of life.  For your workshop think about words and phrases and remember to bring along broken bits of jewellery, buttons, old chain that you might want to use for your necklace.

Origami Globe Workshop with Kumi Middleton

Everyone's heard about Origami so now is your chance to learn this intricate yet beautiful skill to create something truly special. All you need is nimble fingers and you will go home with your very own beautiful paper globe. Images coming soon...

Kimono Girl Shiori Bookmark Workshop with Kumi Middleton

Would you like to create something wonderfully unusual?  Something from another culture?  Look now further than Design Factory Flow member Kumi Middleton's Shiori bookmark workshop. You will use various Japanese papers to create your bookmark,  practical and a beautiful work of art in itself!

Quirky Character Brooch Workshop with Alys Power

Saturday 11th August, 11-1pm
Create your own little friend from reclaimed materials, in just 2 hours jeweller Alys Power will show you how to cut,stamp, stitch & sew! adding features and details to give your character brooch it own special personality. As always materials will be provided, but in the spirit of recycling you are welcome to bring along your own forgotten jewellery, tiny objects or textiles to really make your brooch creation your own.

Lamp Making Workshop with Lucy Renshaw

Saturday 6th October, 10am - 1pm & 2pm - 5pm
Spend a morning or afternoon or both! with quirky interior product designer Lucy Renshaw, create your own lamp shade and have fun mixing old things with contemporary colour and design. Recycling at its best.

Take your pick... or perhaps come to them all!  They promise to be inspiring, rewarding and of course fun!  All materials, equipment, tea and our famous home-made cake are included... although you are encouraged you to take your own trinkets and images for inspiration.
