Whilst reports focus on bad news within the ceramic industry, one manufacturer is moving onwards and upwards with new collections in collaboration with Designer Factory designer/maker member Andrew Tanner.

Renowned as one of most innovative pottery studios, Poole Pottery celebrates its historic portfolio with its new dramatic collection for Living Glaze and their new ‘Thumbprint’ series.  Poole has always been at the forefront of changing trends, palettes and interiors. Hailed as a pottery that celebrates British manufacture and British design, the partnership between Andrew Tanner and Poole Pottery has been a marriage of synergy, passion and excitement.

The ‘Thumbprint’ Collection, featuring the guest designer’s thumbprint on the piece introduces a new design-led series of products to attract both existing collectors but also increase new audiences. The first series of work under this new design umbrella is the vase collection ‘Indulgence’.

The collection comprises two bottle forms that appear to have been overfilled with gold lustre to create a teardrop effect and is embossed to the sides of the vases. Each piece utilises traditional hand applied and decorative processes, all of which are produced by hand in England.

Each piece in the Living Glaze collection is hand painted and therefore unique, combining traditional skills with contemporary design. Poole Pottery is not only moving with the times but celebrating its heritage. New ranges within their Living Glaze portfolio are titled Decadence, Clarice, Columbine and Flamboyance.
