Pink Fruit Bat swoops into the East Midlands

A new arts workshop provider is offering schools, community and youth groups in the region the opportunity to bring creativity and inspiration into arts projects through a series of enriching art workshops and activities.  PinkFruitBat Arts aims to establish good relations with all aspects of the local community in order to build links and cultural exchanges with a view to sharing a common aim of raising awareness of the importance of the arts in community life.

Sally Newham, Project Co-ordinator, explains; ‘The importance of creativity in education and local projects should not be undervalued and PinkFruitBat Arts offers a service that can provide inspiration for projects that will build confidence and encourage participation from people of all ages in arts activities.  This is a wonderful chance for schools and youth projects to develop both discussion and education through arts focussed projects.’

Sally has spent the past five years teaching art in London schools having gained her degree in Fine Art and a diploma in Education. She has worked on a number of arts projects and provided workshops and training to youth groups, schools and teachers in conjunction with galleries like the Tate Modern and British Museum.  She is a keen artist and has exhibited her work nationally.  PinkFruitBat has been born out of her passion for seeing imaginative arts projects motivate and educate people of all ages.

Lesley Burgess, Senior Lecturer in Art and Design Education at the Institute of Education adds ‘Sally has a proven commitment to arts education.  Her passion has helped create exciting and inspiring projects that have enriched the learning of all ages of children.  Her ability to share her experience with others ensures she provides high quality tuition to both children and teachers’.

PinkFruitBat offers a variety of bespoke and established workshops ranging from drawing and printing to painting and 3D materials to inset training on techniques and planning for art.  Sally aims to work in partnership with schools and community groups in order to develop projects that are process or issue based and that provide relevant and inspiring experiences for all.  For more information please contact Sally on 07886 865077 or at enquiries@pinkfruitbat.co.uk
